David Beckham

David Beckham is an English sports executive, entrepreneur, sports agent and former soccer player, a midfielder, chairman of Inter Miami and co-owner of Salford City.

Nicknamed Spice Boy, he began his playing career with Manchester United in 1992 at the age of 17. Growing rapidly in sport, he finished second in the 1999 Ballon d'Or rankings and in the 1999 and 2001 FIFA World Player rankings. David Beckham is one of England's best-known and most successful footballers and a true marketing icon. Inserted by Pelé in the FIFA 100, the ranking of the strongest footballers ever in 2008 he was fifth in the list of the 100 most influential celebrities drawn up by the US magazine Forbes while Time magazine included him in the list of the hundred heroes and icons of the year 2004 .

Beckham is also one of the best free-kick takers ever and one of the few English players to have played more than a hundred games for his national team, of which he was captain on fifty-nine occasions: fifty-eight games from 15 November 2000 to 2 July 2006 and the friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on 1 June 2008.

According to the ranking drawn up by the US magazine Forbes, he was, as had already happened in several previous years, the highest paid soccer player in the world in 2012, with earnings of forty-six million dollars. He had four children with his wife Victoria and, according to 2012 estimates published by The Sunday Times, has assets of around 190 million pounds.

In 2015, the US magazine People placed him in first place in the ranking of the most beautiful men on the planet. In 2018 he was awarded the UEFA President's Award by the UEFA President.
