Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth grew up between Melbourne and Bulman, the son of Craig, a social services administrator, and Leonie, an English teacher, and second of three children. The two brothers, Luke and Liam, are both actors.

With his family he moved during his adolescence to Phillip Island. After studying at Heathmont Secondary College in Melbourne, he began working in television productions and quickly landed some minor roles.

Chris Hemsworth met worldwide success in 2011 when he landed the role of the iconic Marvel Comics hero Thor in Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation Thor. To get the part, the actor said he had to undergo a three-month workout and put on 10 pounds of extra muscle. He reprized the role of the god of thunder in the films The Avengers (2012), Thor: The Dark World (2013), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers : Endgame (2019) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).

On December 28, 2010 he marries actress Elsa Pataky. The couple had three children: India Rose, born in London on May 11, 2012, and twins Tristan and Sasha, born in Los Angeles on March 18, 2014. On November 23, 2022, she expressed her willingness to take a break from the scenes after discovered that he has a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's, in order to devote more time to his family.
