Jennifer Lawrence receives critical acclaim for Winter's Bone for which she received her first Academy Award nomination. She achieved fame as Mystique in the Marvel X-Men saga and Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. Notably, her portrayal of Katniss Everdeen garners critical acclaim and crowns her the highest-grossing action heroine of all time. In 2012, Rolling Stone magazine defined her as the most talented young actress in all of America.

In 2013 she began her artistic partnership with director David O. Russell, who directed her in the romantic Silver Linings Playbook, for which she won the Oscar for best actress, the Golden Globe for best actress in a musical or comedy film and a SAG Award.

The following year she won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress for American Hustle, also receiving her third Academy Award nomination in the same category. In 2016 she won her third Golden Globe and her fourth Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of Joy Mangano in the biopic Joy, becoming the first actress to receive four nominations within the age of 25.

Since May 2018 she has been in a relationship with Cooke Maroney, an art expert at New York's Gladstone Gallery, with whom she gets engaged in January 2019. The two get married on October 19 of the same year in Rhode Island.
