
Elon Musk (born in 1971) is a South African entrepreneur with Canadian and US citizenship.
Musk is the founder, chief executive officer and chief technical officer of the aerospace company SpaceX, founder of The Boring Company, co-founder of Neuralink and OpenAI, chief executive officer and product architect of the multinational automotive company Tesla, owner and president of X. He has also proposed a transport system superfast known as Hyperloop, still under development.
Musk said Tesla and SpaceX's goal focuses on the ideal of improving the world and humanity. One of his goals is also to reduce global warming through the use of renewable energy and reduce the risk of human extinction or natural disasters by establishing a human colony on Mars. Through Starlink, a constellation of satellites manufactured and managed by SpaceX, he would instead like to provide high-speed, low-latency Internet to the entire planet.
According to Forbes, as of July 30, 2023, with an estimated fortune of 240.7 billion dollars, he is the richest person in the world.
Musk has been married twice and has eight children. His first wife was Justine Wilson, a Canadian writer, whom they met when they were both students at Queen's University. Musk and Wilson were married in 2000 and have five children, plus one who died early. The couple separated in September 2008.
In 2010, after dating her for two years, Musk married English actress Talulah Riley. In January 2012 the two break up and in July 2013 they remarry, only to separate again in December 2014 and divorce at the end of 2016.
