The Super Bowl is the championship game of the National Football League. It is usually held on the last Sunday of January or the first of February. The NFL uses Roman numerals to denote each edition of the Super Bowl; the only exception was made for the fiftieth, for which the number 50 was used instead of the Roman L.
This event is attended by world stars who have the honor of singing the US national anthem and also giving their own concert. It takes place in the calendar year following the season for which it assigns the title: for example, Super Bowl VIII, which was played on January 13, 1974, decided the champions of the 1973 season.
The reigning champions for the 2022 season are the Kansas City Chiefs who beat the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII, thus winning their third title.
The trophy is the Vince Lombardi Trophy, an all-silver football in the kick-off position created by Tiffany jewelry. The trophy was named after the famous coach of Italian origin in 1971, immediately after his sudden death, to commemorate his victories in the first two Super Bowls at the helm of the Green Bay Packers. Unlike other trophies, it remains in the victorious team's showcase, which is why Tiffany creates a new version every year.
