Isabella Bella Hadid was born in Washington on October 9, 1996. She has an older sister, Gigi Hadid, also a model, and a younger brother, Anwar Hadid. She also has two older sisters on her paternal side, Marielle and Alana. In 2014, she moved to New York to study photography at Parsons School of Design, which she soon dropped out to pursue a modeling career.

In August 2014 she signed a contract with the IMG Models agency, leaving photography school, and made her debut at New York Fashion Week the following month, walking for Desigual. In September 2015, again during New York Fashion Week, he walked for Tom Ford, Diane von Fürstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, Moschino, Balmain, and Marc Jacobs, in London for Topshop Unique, Burberry and Giles and in Milan for Philipp Plein , Moschino, Missoni, and Bottega Veneta. 

In 2016 she was elected model of the year by the Daily Front Rows Fashion Los Angeles Awards. She also takes part in the Marc Jacobs spring / summer campaign alongside supermodels the likes of Adriana Lima and Joan Smalls, and in that of Versace handbags, alongside Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Stella Maxwell.

In 2017 she is the protagonist of the advertising campaigns of Moschino and Fendi, alongside her sister Gigi Hadid. She is also chosen as Bulgari brand ambassador for the accessories line. For the autumn/winter campaigns she is the testimonial of many such as Versus, Max Mara accessories, replacing her sister Gigi, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and the Nars Cosmetics line of cosmetics, as well as continuing the collaboration with Bulgari and Dior, and making her one of the most requested models. 

In 2019 she is the protagonist, together with her colleague Lucky Blue Smith, of the KITH x Versace advertising campaign. In March she is photographed on the cover of Vogue Russia, while the following month she is on two covers of Vogue, for the Greek and American editions.

In 2022 she won the Model of the Year award at the British Fashion Awards in London.
