Brendan Fraser was born in Indianapolis, December 3, 1968. He rose to prominence in 1997 with the title role in the live-action film George of the Jungle...?, he is remembered for playing Rick O'Connell in the blockbuster trilogy The Mummy (1999), The Mummy Returns (2001) and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008).
In 2022 he won critical acclaim for his performance in the drama The Whale, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor, the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actor and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor in Motion Picture , also being nominated for a Golden Globe in the section for best actor in a drama and a BAFTA Award in the section for best actor.
In 1993 he met the actress Afton Smith, with whom he married on September 27, 1998 and with whom he had three children: Griffin Arthur Fraser (2002), Holden Fletcher Fraser (2004) and Leland Francis Fraser (2006). The couple later divorced in 2008.
