Robert Downey Jr.

Robert John Downey Jr. born in 1965. In 1993 he was nominated for the Oscar for best actor for the first time and won a BAFTA Award for his portrayal of Charlie Chaplin in the film Charlot. In 2000 he joined the cast of the TV series Ally McBeal, for which he received a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in a Series and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. His character was eliminated from the series when the actor was fired due to two drug arrests in late 2000 and early 2001.

Since 2008, Downey has gained international attention for his role as the superhero Iron Man, appearing in Marvel Cinematic Universe films either in the lead role, as a member of an ensemble cast or in a cameo. In 2009 he starred in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, winning the Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy film, and in 2011, in the sequel Sherlock Holmes

He also starred in The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which are among the highest-grossing films of all time and each earned over 1. 1 billion dollars. Additionally, Downey topped Forbes' list of the world's highest-paid actors for three consecutive years, from 2012 to 2015, with an estimated $80 million between June 2014 and June 2015.

Downey says he has been drug-free since July 2003, and credits his wife, family, meditation, yoga and Wing Chun practice. He learned kung fu from Eric Oram, fight scene consultant on many of Downey's films. Oram also served as Downey's personal fight scene coordinator for Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War.
