
Mark Zuckerberg is one of the founders of the social network Facebook. Zuckerberg has been president and CEO of Meta, Inc. since 2004.
Together with his roommates and students at Harvard University, Zuckerberg invented Facebook in a Harvard dorm room, later presenting the project to other university campuses in the United States, before moving to Palo Alto, California. In 2007, at the age of 23, Zuckerberg became a billionaire following the success of Facebook. In 2012, the number of registered Facebook users worldwide reached one billion. Zuckerberg was involved in several lawsuits that were brought by other members of the group, who claimed an equity stake based on their involvement during the development phase of Facebook.
Since 2010, Time has included Zuckerberg among the 100 richest and most influential people in the world in its annual person of the year ranking. In 2011 Zuckerberg placed first in the ranking of the most influential Jews in the world drawn up by the Jerusalem Post and since then he has always occupied the very top positions in that ranking. A cinematic adaptation of the story of the birth of Facebook was told in the 2010 film The Social Network.
As of July 23, 2023, according to Forbes, with an estimated wealth of $104.3 billion, he is the eighth richest man in the world.
