Rebel Wilson

Rebel Wilson, born and raised in Sydney, attended the University of New South Wales, where she studied performing arts. She was a youth ambassador for Australia, settling for a year in South Africa, where she contracted malaria. She studied at the Australian Theater for Young People, obtaining a scholarship to work with the improvisation company The Second City in New York in 2003. Initially known for her obesity, Wilson has lost considerable weight in 2021.

In June 2022 she came out on Instagram to avoid being outed by the Sydney Morning Herald. Her first daughter, Royce Lillian, was born via surrogate on November 7, 2022. On February 19, 2023, she announced that she was officially engaged to Ramona Agruma.

Rebel Wilson is a writer, producer and comedian who has worked for the Sydney Theater Company and performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. She first came to public attention with her stage musical The Westie Monologues, which she wrote, performed and produced in Sydney. Other theater productions she has written, produced and performed in include Spunks and Confessions of an Exchange Student.
