Ed Sheeran (born in 1991) is a British singer-songwriter.
He achieved great success and popularity in North America, Oceania and Europe, especially in the United Kingdom, his native country, where he broke several sales records.
In 2011 the artist signed a recording contract with Asylum Records, under which he achieved international fame with his third album +, certified seven times platinum in the UK, where it also spent 200 weeks in the Official Albums Chart.
With over 150 million records sold globally, including 84.5 million certified copies in the United States alone, he is among the best-selling music artists in history.
Sheeran is also appreciated for his qualities as a writer and composer, so much so that he has become the author of songs for various artists. Among the many awards won, there are 4 Grammy Awards and 6 BRIT Awards.
Since July 2015, Sheeran has been in a relationship with childhood friend and former high school classmate Cherry Seaborn, marrying her in 2018. The two had their first daughter in 2020. The singer-songwriter is also close friends with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
