Lindsay Lohan began her career as a model as a child at the age of three and began working as an actress in 1992; in 1998, at the age of 12, she acted for the first time in the film The Parent Trap. Lohan gains further fame between 2003 and 2005 with leading roles in the films Mean Girls, Herbie and especially Freaky Friday with Jamie Lee Curtis.
In 2007, she was caught several times driving a car while intoxicated, thus losing several job offers as an actress. Later, resuming her professional activities, she participates as a guest in some episodes of the television series Ugly Betty in 2008. She returns to the big screen in 2010 with her Machete. After signing a deal with Netflix, Lohan starred as the lead in the 2022 Christmas movie Falling for Christmas.
Lohan's private life has been much discussed and taken as a theme by numerous international gossip channels over the years. Chief among these was her troubled relationship with her family, especially her father, that was at the center of controversy, as were her conduct off film sets and her personal relationships.
Between 2002 and 2003 she had a brief relationship with singer Aaron Carter. In 2004 she was engaged to Wilmer Valderrama. In 2009 and she was in a relationship with English disc jockey Samantha Ronson. In 2014, however, she declared that she had had a miscarriage for health reasons. On 2 July 2022 she marries the banker Bader Shammas, in the spring of 2023 she announces that she is pregnant.
