Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron was born in Benoni on August 7, 1975.

She acted in several films including The Devil's Advocate (1997), Mighty Joe Young (1998), The Cider House Rules (1999), The Italian Job (2003), Hancock (2008), Snow White and the Huntsman, Prometheus (2012), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Dark Places (2015), The Eagle Huntress (2016), Fast & Furious 8, Atomic Blonde (2017), The Old Guard (2020) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).

She received critical acclaim for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster (2003), for which she won, in addition to the Academy Award in the Best Actress category, the first South African to receive an Oscar in any major category. the Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, the Critics' Choice Awards and the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and various other accolades. She received two more Academy Award nominations for Best Actress for the films North Country (2005) and Bombshell.

Just fifteen years old, on June 21, 1991, her father Charles, 43 years old, who went to live with his sister, alcoholic and depressed by his finished marriage, one evening argues with his wife who briefly passed with their daughter to get a key from him, engaged in a high-alcohol table with his brother Danie Theron and some friends, and later an angry phone call in what used to be his home.
