Golden Globe

The Golden Globe Award is an award recognized annually to the best films and television programs of the season. Along with the Academy Award and Emmy Award, it is one of the top honors in the film and television industry.

The delivery of the Golden Globes usually takes place a little less than two months in advance of the Oscars, of which it thus has, in a certain sense, an anticipatory function. Established in 1944 for cinema and extended to television in 1956, the Golden Globes are awarded by a jury of about ninety foreign press journalists registered with the HFPA, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

From 2024, following the dissolution of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 2023, the award will be organized by the new Golden Globe Foundation.
