As a result: “I literally wet the bed until I was 14 years old because I didn’t know what was going to happen . . . We lived a nightmare for years”. This clearly shows how hard it was to watch his mother beaten frequently by the person who is supposed to protect them.
The pain is still fresh and vibrant within him. From an early age, he learned to train himself to be brave. 
Talking about his education, Terry did his high schooling from Flint Southwestern. He was granted an art scholarship from the Interlochen Center for the Arts along with a full-ride athletic scholarship for football and an Art Excellence scholarship from the Western Michigan University.
