Seth MacFarlane (full name: Seth Woodbury MacFarlane) was born on October 26, 1973, in Newburyport, Massachusetts. His parents are Ronald Milton MacFarlane and Ann Perry. He also has a sister, Rachael Ann MacFarlane, who is a voice actress.
His father was a teacher, and his mother used to work in the College Guidance and Admissions Offices at the Kent School. His mother died on July 16, 2010, after fighting a long battle with cancer.

Seth was interested in drawings and illustrations since he was a child and he even decided his career in the field of animation.
In 1991, Seth earned his high school diploma from Kent School. Then he went to Rhode Island School of Design (RSID) to study film, video, and animation and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
Career
Seth wanted to work at Disney, but he changed his mind while graduating.
He created a series of independent films when he was at RSID, and he also produced a thesis film, The Life of Larry, which later inspired Family Guy. His professor submitted this to an animation studio, Hanna-Barbera where he got hired.
