Shane Kilcher was born on 5 May 1971 in Idaho to parents Atz Kilcher and Lenedra Carroll. He grew up in Homer of Alaska with his siblings. According to his birthdate, currently, Shane is 47 years old.
He attended Homer High School and later went to Homer Senior High School. Shane participated in the volleyball team Alaska Anchorage Seawolves and played for them in some tournaments. Shane has a brother named Atz Lee Kilcher, half-brother, Nikos Kilcher and a sister, Jewel Kilcher.
His parents separated a long time ago. Shane spent most of his life in Alaska, and now he is residing with his wife, Kelli Kilcher.

The eighth season of the show was confirmed when Jane revealed that Kilcher family returned to homestead after the short trip.
However, the date has not been fixed yet by discovery channel. Season nine will be airing in either in the first or second week of October. Alaska: The Last Frontier will follow a similar start date, likely to premiere in the second half of September or early October 2018.

Shane Kilcher got a horrific accident while he was working on his new home in Alaska.
According to the discovery channel, he fell from the ladder and broke his L2 vertebra. Shane admitted to Central Peninsula Hospital Alaska. Hife wife, Kelli explained what happened in the accident. Kelli continued saying that, “He’s not moving, and if he’s not gonna be able to get around, and he’s supposed to take care of things and he does all the heavy lifting, and he’s doing all the building, so…” Inquisitr reported that Shane’s brother, Atz Lee Kilcher suffered from the punctured lungs and multiple ribs in August 2015.
