T Pain (actual name: Faheem Rashad Najm) was born on September 30, 1985, Tallahassee, Florida, United States.

His parents are Shasheem Najm and Aliyah Najm. Apart from his parents he also has three brothers and sisters, A’pril Najm, Rasheed Constantine Najm and Zakiyyah Keke King. T Pain grew up in Tallahassee in a Muslim household.

He got interested in music from a very young age of three. This happened because Ben Tankard, a gospel jazz artist/producer and a friend of a family allowed him to spend some time in his studio.
