Although we know him just as David Attenborough, his full name is Sir David Federick Attenborough.
He was born on May 8, 1926, in Isleworth, England. He was born as a middle child of Federick Attenborough and Mary Clegg. His elder brother, Richard, as well as his younger brother John, is no more with us. David Attenborough went to Wyggeston Granner School for Boys in Leicester.
He was a very bright kid, and he even won a scholarship to Clare College, Cambridge in 1945 where he studied geology and zoology obtaining a degree in natural sciences.

David Attenborough became controller of the BBC's second television channel BBC-2 in 1965. With his new bestowed position, he helped launch production of The Forsyte Saga, Jacob Bronowski's The Ascent of Man and Kenneth Clark's Civilisation.
He also aired the seminal comedy series called Monty Python's Flying Circus.

At that time, David was in New Zealand filming The Life of Birds, when Jane went to coma but made it back just in time to be with her in her last moments. With his name and fame, David would have gotten married, but he chooses to cherish Jane's love for the rest of his life.
As a matter of fact, he still resides in the house they shared. David and Jane had two children. Robert and Susan, who are now all grown up and living their life successfully. His daughter, Susan is a former primary school headmistress and his son.
