Since Katy Perry announced her decision to leave the show and give her verdict in February, there have been numerous rumors regarding the identity of the next judge. Luke Bryan, the co-judge, recently gave an interview to Billboard wherein he mentioned some likely contenders.

Some of the notable personalities, he said, "I’ve said several names. I think Pink has been in the talks, Miley Cyrus has been in the talks, Meghan Trainor has been in the talks." Responded Bryan, 47, famous for "Country On." ABC’s singing competition show has remained under wraps because of its parent company Disney, says Bryan.

This and many more familiar faces associated with the show such as Lionel Richie and Ryan Seacrest, have no clue what the new season has in stock for fans. "It’s been something Disney been really tightlipped about with me and Lionel [Richie] and Ryan [Seacrest].

We currently haven’t heard what the story is on who’s coming back, and if Lionel and I are coming back. I think Disney is just trying to figure out what they want to do and we’re just kind of sitting back and waiting until they decide." Bryan said.

Judging Dreams Unfold

Getting rid of Perry, the enthusiastic singer of the famous song "Firework," will not be an easy call. Bryan said: "I think they’re just working real hard to find somebody that can really come in and do the job that Katy did," he said.

In these talks, Meghan Trainor eagerly spoke about her desire to become a judge at America’s Got Talent during the June 12 show at "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen." The 30-year-old singer called for judging as her dream job.

However, not everyone is looking forward to embracing the exact roles Perry depicted. Later in the month of June, the first winner of the show, Kelly Clarkson, told Entertainment Tonight that she was not interested in coming back as a judge on the "American Idol." While citing conflict of interest issues and family issues, Clarkson, who also left the coaching position on "The Voice" in 2023, said, "No.

No. I can’t do that, only because I promised my kids. I was like, ‘I wanna be there as much as I possibly can.’ And it would put me in L.A." However, Perry has not pulled the plug on music yet; she recently claimed that her new track "Woman’s World" will be out on July 11; it is the lead single of her sixth yet unnamed album. This new phase of her career is fresh and new, although fans of Perry are eagerly awaiting new music.
