During the Pinkpop Festival in 2024 in Landgraaf, Netherlands, singers Ed Sheeran and Hozier performed the song "Work Song" for the first time in their careers, which is also the first time they have become friends more than ten years ago.

It was clear that Hozier was excited about the collaboration and lauded Sheeran before presenting him to the audience. "For this next song, this is such a treat, and I feel so, so I honored," he said before bringing out Sheeran, whom he called "an incredible songwriter" and "a wonderful person." This was followed by 'Work Song' from Hozier’s self-titled record which has also been certified triple platinum in the United States and this was performed with the duo of guitarists.

The people watched a very genuine and moving interaction between the two artists which is a very unique and special musical treat.

Sheeran's Festival Highlights

After the duet, Sheeran expressed his happiness and gratitude through his social media account on Instagram, where he posted a rehearsal video.

"First met @hozier back in 2014, we did a run of festivals together and made fast friends," he said. "This is the first time we’ve played together on stage, and it was such a joy. I’m such a fan, thanks so much for having me up for one of my favorite songs of yours !

You and your band are incredible x." In another part of the festival earlier in the day, Sheeran teamed up with rock band Limp Bizkit perform a version of The Who’s Behind Blue Eyes - this series of collaborations shows off Sheeran’s singing ability across different genres besides the fact that he was on a festival tour where he has performed with other artists.

In May, during the BottleRock Napa Valley Festival, Sheeran joined The Offspring to perform his favorite song "Million Miles Away". Taking to the social media platform, Sheeran said, "The first album I ever bought was the @offspring - Conspiracy of One." Speaking about the chance, he responded that it was an instant yes, obviously, as he dreamed of performing with them since.
