Also, one of the most significant influences in the country music sphere, the 91-year-old Willie Nelson, has been again compelled to cancel several shows, including Virginia Beach, as part of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour.

This was through a Facebook post made by Nelson on the social media platform this Wednesday, and it was sad. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that some health issues have caused the postponement of Nelson’s highly anticipated shows.

I recently saw that the great singer-songwriter had to cancel the beginning of this current tour, including the first show in Georgia, due to the doctor telling him to “rest for the next four days”. When worrying, a statement on June 21 said that Nelson had been diagnosed to be recovering fast.

He will be back on stage in the next few days in the remaining tour.

Virginia Beach Disappointment

The vaguely defined event in Virginia Beach is even more tragic because the Outlaw Music Festival was to feature an extraordinary cast of musicians.

However, with the news that even Nelson would not be making an appearance, fans were ready to see big performances by Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and new talent Celisse. Also, Nelson’s son Lukas was to release his latest album to commemorate his father’s songbook using the Lukas Nelson & the Promise of the Real band.

Nelson’s eliminates-all pace remains impressive, for he entered his tenth decade while still releasing albums. The Border was released in May; he also lent a cameo on close friend Beyoncé’s recent country offering Cowboy Carter.

Last year, his innovative contribution to music was formally recognized with an induction into the Rock Roll Hall of Fame accompanied by a live rendition of his songs by Chris Stapleton, Sheryl Crow and other enthusiasts.

As Nelson’s team continue to insist on his early return to the stage, listeners hold on to his words that he never stops touring and will never give up on live performance. Given an artist who has been the life soundtrack for so many, every delayed concert intensifies the waiting for Nelson’s next book.

As the man himself said, “Every time after the tour, I said this is it for me, and the urge strikes me again. ”
