The 91-year-old country music artist Willie Nelson has been advised by his doctor to cease his concerts, which he has gracefully obeyed. The talented vocalist who has revolutionized country music was to grace the Outlaw Music Festival this weekend, but he has been advised to rest due to ailing health.

The statement posted on Nelson’s social media account read, "We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days." This can be recalled that Nelson had to drop from the concert and leave the stage in San Diego in 2018 mid-first song due to breathing difficulties.

Soon after, he dropped an entire month of concerts, explaining that he was suffering from a really bad flu.

Still, there is some good news for the fans of the music band who will be attending the festival.

As for the opening act, Lukas Nelson & The Nelson Family Band will perform while their patriarch, Willie Nelson, is not present. That’s why they will perform the highlight of Willie’s repertory and other essential pop-songs, so the spirit of what listeners came for would not be affected.

2024 Outlaw Festival Stars

The list of performers for the next Outlaw Music Festival in 2024 also includes famous musicians like Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and Celisse. Each adds a special perspective to the festival, which is revered for its diverse and succulent music.

The festival also has John Mellencamp with Brittney Spencer and Southern Avenue, which is a big addition to the star-studded lineup. Besides continuing his musical career, the life and work of Willie Nelson were presented in a documentary at last year’s festival in Sundance.

This film provides the lovers of the country music artist with a closer and more intimate view of the singer’s life. Nelson is expected to recover soon and be back on the festival circuit next week. The man has always been known to be hardworking and loyal to his fans; this break is not a sign of his giving up but rather a dedication to his music as well as his health.
