Known for her captivating voice and memorable performances, Cheng was a beloved figure in the industry, especially as a member of the popular girl group M-Girls.

Sudden On-Set Tragedy

Her untimely death occurred under shocking circumstances.

Cheng was on the set of the short video channel “Squad Sekawan” when she suddenly felt unwell. Actor Chai Zi, who was working with her, recounted the events to the media. He explained that Cheng showed no signs of distress initially but later complained of dizziness, severe headache, and nausea while preparing for a scene.

Despite immediate assistance and the swift arrival of paramedics, Cheng tragically passed away within 30 to 40 minutes of first complaining of discomfort. The cause of Cheng’s sudden demise is suspected to be a brain hemorrhage, as revealed by one of her close friends to Sin Chew Daily News.

The loss has stunned her friends, fans, and colleagues, who are struggling to come to terms with her untimely departure. Carrie Tan, a close friend of Cheng’s, has been coordinating with authorities regarding the investigation and the transfer of her body to her hometown in Kangar, Perlis.

An autopsy is expected to provide further clarity on the cause of death. In the wake of this tragedy, “Squad Sekawan” has expressed their deep sorrow and announced the postponement of new episodes. The entertainment community, along with Cheng’s admirers, continue to mourn the loss of a talented artist whose life and work touched so many.
