Michael Hardy, popularly known in the music industry as HARDY, shared a heartfelt update with fans this Tuesday via Instagram. The 33-year-old country singer revealed his struggles with anxiety and panic attacks following a distressing tour bus accident last year.
As a result, he's made the difficult decision to cancel two of his forthcoming shows. “For those who have stood by me, I owe you honesty,” HARDY began, diving into the emotional aftermath of the accident. “The anxiety since the crash last year has not only persisted but intensified over the past fortnight, dominating my life”.
He elaborated, “This anxiety has resulted in multiple panic attacks, leading to my current hospitalization. The time has come for me to prioritize my mental health, not just for my sake but for my wife, family, and all my supporters”.
His commitment to his fans was evident as he expressed regret for canceling the 'mockingbird & THE CROW Fall Tour' shows scheduled for October 5th in Simpsonville, South Carolina and October 7th in Brandon, Mississippi.
However, ticket holders have been assured of refunds.
Georgia Rodeo Gig Rescheduled
Additionally, HARDY has rescheduled his Georgia Rodeo gig in Winterville, initially set for October 6th, to April 12, 2024. He urged fans to retain their tickets for the shifted 2024 performance.
With optimism, the "Wait in the Truck" artist confirmed, “I aim to get back onstage by October 12th for the Jonesboro, Arkansas performance. Thank you for your compassion and patience”. For those unfamiliar with the traumatic event, on October 2, 2022, HARDY informed his Instagram followers about a serious accident involving his tour bus near Bristol, Tennessee.
He, along with the four other passengers, sustained notable injuries. Their driver was hospitalized for a prolonged period. He'd sincerely thanked everyone for their prayers and concerns, promising timely updates about his tour.
HARDY's posts from that time also included an intimate photo with his then-fiancée, Caleigh Ryan, capturing a moment of vulnerability and strength. Over the poignant image, he wrote, "Grateful to be alive. Your love means everything." HARDY's journey reflects not only the challenges faced by musicians but also the resilience and courage in confronting personal battles head-on. As he recuperates, fans worldwide are sending their thoughts and prayers.
