In a heartrending announcement to fans around the globe, international pop icon Celine Dion declared the cancellation of her much-anticipated "Courage World Tour." A source intimate with the singer informed CNN that this move might mark the end of her touring career.

The insider painted a bleak picture of Dion's physical state, saying, “She is in a lot of pain...She does daily physical therapy”.

A Public Apology

Dion made a public apology via her social media platforms, expressing a profound sense of regret to her devoted fans, “I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again,” the post read.

In the heartfelt note, the celebrated artist elaborated on her current struggles and the challenge touring poses even when one is in perfect health. She emphasized that it was not fair to her fans to repeatedly postpone the shows.

The 'My Heart Will Go On' singer added, “even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again. I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”

An Ongoing Battle with Stiffness Syndrome

The reason behind Dion's painful decision lies in her battle with stiffness syndrome, a rare, progressive disorder that affects the nervous system, specifically targeting the brain and spinal cord.

This health update comes after Dion had to postpone several shows last December when she first disclosed her diagnosis. Stiffness syndrome, as defined by the US National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, has been plaguing Dion, causing her debilitating spasms.

“While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having,” Dion confessed. Tragically, these spasms have been impacting every facet of the singer's daily life, including her ability to walk, and most critically for her profession, hampering her iconic singing ability.

She explained that the condition prevents her from "singing the way she's used to." Dion's announcement and the ensuing disappointment for her fans underscore a poignant reality; our beloved stars, despite their fame and success, are human and are subject to the same vulnerabilities as the rest of us.
