Lady Gaga's Surprising Financial Struggles: Bankrupted by the Monster Ball Tour

Lady Gaga, one of the world's most successful and well-known musicians, has recently shared a surprising revelation with the media. Despite her massive success, she was nearly bankrupt after her second tour, the "Monsterball" tour, without even realizing it.

The Monsterball Tour: A Masterpiece at a Cost

The "Monsterball" tour, widely considered one of the most successful promotional tours in history, took its toll on the singer's finances. Lady Gaga's habit of constantly redesigning, reformatting, and revising the tour, which she paid for out of her own pocket, made the tour one of the most extraordinary and unpredictable in history, but also one of the least profitable.

Money Means Nothing to Me

In an interview with FT, Lady Gaga stated, "It's honestly true that money means nothing to me. The only big things I've purchased are my dad's heart valve and a Rolls-Royce for my parents, for their anniversary.

" Despite her financial struggles, Lady Gaga continued to pour her resources into the tour, ultimately leading to her nearly three million dollars in debt. She recalls, "And I actually went bankrupt after the first extension of The Monster Ball.

And it was funny because I didn't know! And I remember I called everyone and said, 'Why is everyone saying I have no money? This is ridiculous, I have five number one singles – and they said, 'Well, you're $3m in debt.'

"

From Bankruptcy to Grammy Wins and Oscars

Despite her financial struggles, Lady Gaga was able to bounce back and has since become one of the world's most successful musicians, with multiple Grammy wins, Oscars, and even a nomination for best actress for her role in "A Star is Born".

She has also released multiple albums and has toured the world, solidifying her place in the music industry.

Paying Tribute to Musical Legends

Lady Gaga's musical influences run deep, with tributaries from Freddie Mercury, David Bowie, and Debbie Harry all flowing into her unique sound.

She has publicly expressed her love for Madonna and has stated, "I genuinely love her so much. I think she is so amazing. She could never be replicated." Lady Gaga's album was also inspired by musical legends such as David Bowie, Prince, Michael Jackson, and Grace Jones.

Lady Gaga's Upcoming Role in the Joker Sequel

As a reminder, Lady Gaga will be starring in the highly anticipated Joker sequel, where she will portray the role of Harley Quinn. The film will also star Joaquin Phoenix and is set to premiere in 2024.

Lady Gaga's journey from nearly being bankrupt after the "Monsterball" tour to becoming one of the world's most successful musicians is a testament to her resilience and hard work.
