The renowned singer, Adele, has been performing at her Las Vegas residency, Weekends with Adele, despite facing physical pain. The 34-year-old artist has been dealing with knee problems and has recently revealed that one of her discs has disintegrated, causing her sciatica in her left leg.

Physical Ailments Hinder Adele's Performance

During one of her recent shows, Adele asked the crowd: "Is anyone else kind of my age starting to get bad knees?" She went on to explain, "I have got really bad sciatica in my left leg and my L5 disc is not f***ing there anymore.

It's worn away." The L5 vertebra is located in the final section of the lumbar spine and injuries to it often result in numbness and weakness in the legs. Adele has previously stated that the pain has limited her mobility, causing her to waddle instead of walk properly.

Adele's Love for Live Performances

Despite her physical limitations, Adele has made it clear that she has a deep love for live performances. Speaking to the 4,000-strong crowd at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she said, "I love making music but there is something about performing live that actually terrifies me.

That is why I am not a big touring artist." She went on to express her preference for performing in smaller rooms, "Doing two shows a week in a much smaller room and seeing people receive my music is, honestly, just what I am going to do from now on rather than big rooms that make me feel terrified." Adele also spoke about the difficulty of performing in front of large crowds, "There is something not quite normal about one person standing in front of 100,000 people.

I often felt like Santa Claus or Spongebob or something like that. The crowds were amazing, but I couldn't really see three-quarters of them."

Adele's Residency in Las Vegas

Adele started her residency in Las Vegas in November of 2022 and has stated that she plans to continue performing in the city, instead of embarking on another tour of arenas.

This decision comes after her 2022 performance at the BRITs was re-aired at the recent ceremony, where Harry Styles swept four awards and performances from artists like Stormzy and Lizzo were also showcased. Adele's love for live performances and her desire to connect with her fans through her music has driven her to perform despite facing physical pain.

Her residency in Las Vegas has given her the opportunity to perform in a more intimate setting, allowing her to connect with her fans in a meaningful way.
