Linkin Park Unveils Unreleased Track "Lost" Sung by Late Chester Bennington

Linkin Park, the iconic American rock band, has released an unheard track, "Lost," sung by the late frontman of the group, Chester Bennington, who passed away in 2017. The track will feature on the new 20th-anniversary edition of the band's album "Meteora," which will be released on April 7th.

Originally intended to appear on "Meteora," Linkin Park’s popular 2003 album, the song was found and released after almost two decades. Mike Shinoda, the band's member, expressed his joy and excitement to have discovered this gem in a statement on Twitter.

He compared finding the track to rediscovering a favorite photo that had been forgotten, waiting for the perfect moment to reveal itself. He also mentioned that fans had been asking for the band to release something featuring Bennington’s voice, and this new track will satisfy that request.

“Finding this track was like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten you’d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself,” the band’s Mike Shinoda says in a press statement. “For years, fans have been asking us to release something with Chester’s voice, and I’m thrilled we’ve been able to make that happen in such a special way.

I think they’re going to be floored when they hear and see all the incredible unreleased songs and video footage in Meteora 20”. The band has also released an animated video for the song, directed by Maciej Kuciara.

Shinoda further expressed his anticipation of the fans' reactions when they hear and see the unreleased songs and video footage in the new album.

LOST

Reflecting on the 20th anniversary of their album "Meteora," Linkin Park released the reissue following the 2020 20th-anniversary edition of their diamond-selling debut album "Hybrid Theory." Joe Hahn, one of the band's members, described it as a "nice time to pause and think" and reflect on their careers, the impact they have made, and the values they embraced while making their music.

Chester Bennington passed away at the age of 41, and Linkin Park went on hiatus after his death. The band last performed together at the "Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington" concert in October 2017.

Before announcing the new track, Shinoda emphasized that fans should not expect the band to return to the stage or make new albums without Bennington. The world lost a unique talent and voice when Chester Bennington passed away, and the release of "Lost" is a beautiful way for Linkin Park to pay tribute to their fallen friend and fellow musician. It is a gift to the fans, who continue to appreciate and celebrate the legacy of the talented singer and frontman.
