For weeks, the media has been abuzz with talk of Shakira's latest release, "Music Session #53," in which the Colombian singer candidly addresses her relationship with ex-partner Gerard Pique. Now, it seems that Pique is set to respond in kind with the release of a new song, set for a symbolic date.
Shakira's Candid Confession
In "Music Session #53," Shakira collaborated with Bizarrap to lash out at those close to the father of her two children. The song, which quickly gained popularity, delves into the dynamics of her relationship with Pique and the behavior that ultimately led to its demise.
The singer didn't spare either her ex or his girlfriend, so she told him through the lyrics, among other things, "I wish you good luck with my supposed replacement / I don't even know what happened to you," she sings. "You are so strange that I can't even distinguish you / I'm worth two of 22 [year old] / You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo / You traded a Rolex for a Casio.", Shakira sings in the new song.
Pique's Response
In the show, Gerard Pique made fun of his former partner Shakira and her new song, which collected 90 million views in two days.
Pique founded a league where influencers and former footballers play football called "The Kings League".
"I have a big announcement. Casio gave us watches as a gift. We have a contract with Casio, they sponsor this league," said Pique while the others in the studio laughed loudly. "You're kidding," added one of the guests. "No, no, I'm serious.
Here, they sent everyone a watch," said the football player. “Why did Casio join?” asked one of the participants. "Because of Shakira's song," Sergio Kun Agüero, a retired Argentinian soccer player who called in via video, immediately replied, and everyone laughed even harder.
Collaboration with Karol G
As reported on the "Mamarazzis'" podcast by Laura Fa and Lorena Vazquez, Shakira and Karol G worked hard on this new song. They recorded the video in just two days, with sessions lasting over 15 hours each day.
