Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley. Lisa Marie passed away at the age of 55. According to a statement from Sam Mast, a representative for Lisa Marie's mother, Priscilla Presley, “Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie." The statement went on to say, "They are profoundly grateful for the support, love, and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time”.
Lisa Marie, who was also a singer, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was found unconscious in her home in Calabasas, California, according to US outlet TMZ.
In her own statement, Priscilla Presley said,
"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.
She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss”. TMZ reported that Lisa Marie was found unconscious in her bedroom on Thursday morning and that paramedics performed CPR and gave her epinephrine to restart her pulse.
The cause of death has not been officially announced. Born in 1968, Lisa Marie was nine years old when her father, Elvis Presley, died of a heart attack at Graceland in 1977 at the age of 42. She went on to become a successful musician in her own right, releasing her debut album, "To Whom It May Concern," in 2003, followed by "Now What" in 2005, both of which reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200.
Her third album, "Storm and Grace," was released in 2012. Just this past Tuesday, Lisa Marie and her mother, Priscilla, attended the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills where Austin Butler won the award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in the biopic "Elvis."
