Designed by Fabergé, the Game of Thrones jewelry collection is inspired by the award-winning HBO® television series. In collaboration with Michelle Clapton, costume designer of the series, and Lisa Thalgren, head of design for the Faberge brand, the Faberge x Game of Thrones collection reveals the extraordinary story behind the show.
Faberge's new creations combine the artistic genius of the master jeweler with an iconic television series from the 21st century, creating extraordinary pieces of history in the making. 'The Iron Anniversary' is a major milestone commemorating the tenth anniversary of the premiere episode of the hit television series, which marked the launch of this jewelry collection.
The egg was sold to a private collector for US$2.2 million. Taking advantage of the popularity of this exceptional item, a wider collection of wearables inspired by the series is the natural continuation of this collaboration.
Faberge x Game of Thrones luxury jewelry story begins with Five Designs, each limited to ten pieces, entitled 'The Dragon' Daenerys increasingly embraces the colors of House Targaryen throughout the series, which represent House Targaryen.
Dark red rubies, obtained from the Montepuez mine in Mozambique, bring into the collection the presence of red, which is also a symbol of her fiery spirit. A striking collection of dramatic creations combines precious gemstones with white gold, rose gold, diamonds, and black rhodium.
FABERGÉ X GAME OF THRONES
Michele Clapton says: “The collection was inspired by the strength and vulnerability of Daenerys and her relationship with her dragons, to try and express this complex woman and her journey from orphaned exile to conquering monarch and her ongoing quest for the Iron Throne.
It sits beautifully alongside the recent Fabergé x Game of Thrones Egg”. Fabergé’s Head of Design, Liisa Tallgren says of this collection: “The Fabergé x Game of Thrones ‘Dragon’ High Jewellery capsule collection presents different aspects of the mythical creatures, and documents their journey in the series alongside Daenerys.
From skeletal designs that reference the dragon skeletons housed in a vault in the Red Keep in King’s Landing, through to creations which showcase Gemfields’ Mozambican rubies to hint that the dragons are back and alive, ready to breathe fire.
The crescendo of ‘Chapter One: Dragon’ is a design which spotlights a row of diamonds and rubies which metaphorically burst into flames, showcasing that the dragons are back and full of life”.
