Yesterday, a new era began for Kate Middleton because she attended a royal banquet for the first time as the Princess of Wales, and for this occasion, she paid tribute to Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth with the pieces of jewelry she chose.

Members of the royal family gathered yesterday for a banquet hosted by King Charles at Buckingham Palace. Kate was dressed in a long white Jenny Packham dress that had silver embellishments on the shoulders. “This evening, The King and The Queen Consort are hosting a State Banquet, on behalf of the Nation, for the President of the Republic of South Africa,” the royal family’s Instagram posted on Nov.

The visit was organized befor the queen's death on Sept. 8.

“The late Queen had the great pleasure of hosting Presidents Mandela, Mbeki and Zuma for State Visits to the United Kingdom, at all of which I was present,” Reuters reported Charles said in his speech.

“Let us rekindle the moral purpose of the global fight against apartheid to confront the discrimination, inequality and injustice that divides humanity and that stifles the progress of all." Middleton attended the royal gala dinner and wore the tiara that belonged to Princess Diana for the first time as the Princess of Wales.

She matched the embellishments on the dress with the tiara worn before her by Princess Diana, whose title Middleton inherited when Charles ascended the throne after the death of Queen Elizabeth. The tiara was crafted in 1914 and gifted to Diana by the late Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding gift in 1981.

Embellished with 38 teardrop pearls, the stunning piece of jewelery has become a favorite of the Princess of Wales after she wore it to various receptions in 2015, 2016 and 2019. The tiara was made for Queen Mary in the early 20th century and is modeled after the Cambridge Lover's tiara.

For the banquet, which was held to welcome South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to the UK, Kate also wore pearl earrings that once belonged to her late mother-in-law and a pearl and diamond triple bracelet from Queen Elizabeth's jewelry collection.
