Italian police seize cocaine after caterer overdoses on 'The Equalizer 3' set

Italian police have seized more than 100 grams of cocaine on the set of the movie "Equalizer 3" starring Denzel Washington after one person died of an overdose. Variety writes that the police in the town of Maiori in Italy found and seized more than 100 grams of cocaine, and the Carabinieri also searched the hotel rooms of the entire team.

The police got involved after the production's head of catering died of an overdose. Several packages of cocaine were also found in his possession. A total of 120 grams of cocaine was discovered, and two catering members were detained on suspicion of selling narcotics.

A member of the catering staff had his driver's license suspended for possession of a small amount of cocaine. It is not yet known whether this incident will have an impact on the production of the film. Filming began last month and represents the fifth collaboration between director Antoine Fuqua and actor Denzel Washington.

It should continue until the end of this year, and then filming is planned in Naples in December and in Rome in January.

Dakota Fanning makes her debut in the franchise

Dakota Fanning makes her debut in the franchise, the script is still a secret, but it is also known that the Italian actress Gaia Scodellaro will appear.

During the promotional tour for Man on Fire, Washington praised Fanning and her acting skills. "She's a sweetheart, as you'll see if you've talked to her already. She's a bright young woman and she's just a joy to be around.

You can't not like her," he told IGN at the time. "Dakota is a child, but she is a wonderful actor. And that's what we were doing together: acting. I don't know what a 'child actor' is. She's an actor who's a child."

Fanning told the outlet that Washington "was so nice and I couldn't wait to see him every day." She added, "I want to be like him one day." Equalizer 3 is in theaters Sept. 1, 2023.
