Margot Robbie delighted many with her role in the movie Barbie. Many are wondering if a sequel will appear in the near future, and what are the plans of the creators of this film. Robbie recently told the Associated Press that they put all their effort into this movie.

It is difficult to predict whether there will really be a sequel in the future, but it seems that there are no great chances for that. "I think we put everything we had into this one," Robbie said. "We didn't build it to be a trilogy or something.

[Director] Greta [Gerwig] put everything into this movie, so I can't imagine what would be next." Robbie also emphasized in an interview with Time that when you create a film, it is a huge mistake to plan a sequel and adapt the first part.

She is obviously a person who loves creativity and the fact that things can go in a million directions. "It could go a million different directions from this point. But I think you fall into a bit of a trap if you try and set up a first movie whilst also planning for sequels."

Gerwig and her reaction

Gerwig, who co-wrote and directed Barbie, may have given the final word regarding a potential sequel.

“At this moment, it’s all I’ve got. I feel like that at the end of every movie, like I’ll never have another idea and everything I’ve ever wanted to do, I did. I wouldn’t want to squash anybody else’s dream, but for me, at this moment, I’m at totally zero." Gerwig is an imaginative person who has tons of ideas in her head.

It is her imagination that could be the reason why we will watch the sequel. “There’s a tone and a humor and a joy, and obviously the world is so beautiful,” Gerwig said. “I want to go back to Barbie Land”.
