Gal Gadot, famed for her roles in blockbuster hits like "Wonder Woman", has a new thriller available on Netflix titled "Heart of Stone". The release has caused a ripple effect, generating questions about Gadot’s earlier roles and what the future holds for the iconic actress.
The press tour for the film added another layer of intrigue as Gadot teased a potential return to the DC Universe and touched on her part in the "Fast Saga" and the highly anticipated "Snow White" adaptation where she'll portray the Evil Queen.
The Next James Bond?
But of all the questions circling the star, one has stood out: Could Gal Gadot be the next James Bond? While Gadot's name hasn't been officially in the ring, her fans certainly seem to think she'd be a good fit.
Addressing the idea in a recent GQ video where she responded to fan questions, the actress expressed her gratitude for such comparisons. "That's very nice of you to say, thank you. I'm such a big fan of this genre," Gadot stated, reflecting on her love for action-packed films like "Bond", "Mission", "Die Hard", and "Bourne Identity".
It was her role as Wonder Woman that reignited her passion for action cinema and made her realize the potential for female-led blockbusters. “The action, the twists and turns, the scope, the drama, I love everything about these movies, and I'm so happy that we can share Heart of Stone with you," Gadot effused, emphasizing her excitement to be part of this evolution in the movie industry.
A Future Bond?
The end of Daniel Craig's era as James Bond has left many speculating about who might don the iconic tuxedo next. But those hoping for a gender switch for the legendary spy might be disappointed. Barbara Broccoli, the movie series' producer, has been clear on her stance.
"He can be of any color, but he is male," Broccoli asserted. She emphasized the importance of creating fresh, strong female characters rather than reimagining male roles for women. "I believe we should be creating new characters for women.
I'm not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that." While the future of James Bond remains uncertain, what's evident is that talented actresses like Gal Gadot continue to redefine genres and break barriers in Hollywood.
Whether or not she ever becomes 007, her impact on the industry is undeniable.
