Christina Applegate on acting future and struggle with multiple sclerosis

Christina Applegate gave an emotional speech during Variety's 2023 TV FYC Fest in which she talked about her career and the fact that she probably won't be on the acting scene anymore. Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis two years ago.

The disease progresses and causes huge problems for her, but Christina is a great fighter and believes that she can at least slow down the progress of the disease. This popular actress has problems with movement, and every day is a 'struggle' for her.

“Thank you so much for being supportive and understanding as I journey through this new part of my life, not knowing if I’m going to continue on to act anymore,” -Applegate said, as quoted by huffpost.com “I don’t know if I can.

I’d love to, I do miss it. I miss it so much”. Dead to Me is a huge success and achieved great results. “It’s a daily struggle to walk and to move and stuff, but I’m so happy I ended it with a show like ‘Dead to Me.’”

Christina Applegate talks about everyday problems

After her diagnosis, Christina Applegate began to look at life with different eyes.

It is interesting that people do not appreciate many things. Their focus is mostly on the things they don't have, rather than on the things they do have. Applegate was just talking about it. She has many problems with movement, as we have already said, and some simple tasks for everyone are a huge problem for her.

“There are just certain things that people take for granted in their lives that I took for granted,” she told Vanity Fair. “Going down the stairs, carrying things — you can’t do that anymore.

It sucks. I can still drive my car short distances. I can bring up food to my kid. Up, never down”.
