Woody Harrelson wants a DNA test: Matthew McConaughey against such an option

In the wake of Matthew McConaughey's recent revelation that he and Woody Harrelson may actually be biological brothers, there has been a great deal of reaction. There were many people who laughed at it, while there were others who took it seriously.

During an interview with "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," Harrelson explained how the topic came up and how they learned that Matthew's mother and Woody's father had actually known each other. “Well, I’ll just say there is some veracity to that thought because we talked to Ma’ Mac, Matthew’s legitimate mother, and she let us know one time…I mean, this is crazy,” Harrelson said.

“We were in Greece watching the U.S. team win the World Cup and I don’t know, I mentioned something about regrets. And I said, ‘You know, it’s odd that my father has no regrets.’ And I have known Ma’ Mac a long time, and she goes, ‘I knew… your father.’ And it was the ellipses I found a little troubling, or interesting.

Woody Harrelson and his demands

Harrelson revealed another detail that caused even more controversy: “The year of [Matthew’s] birth, nine months before, she was on a sabbatical from her relationship with his supposed father, Jim,” Harrelson continued.

Harrelson also revealed that he was willing to do a DNA test together with Matthew. However, McConaughey is not a fan of such an option and believes that it would spoil many things. It is interesting how suddenly a story was created around it.

Really, regardless of the outcome and the truth, the two look like brothers and it's obvious that they get along great outside the movie scene. “We want to go for a [DNA] test, but for him, it’s a much more big deal,” Harrelson said.

“I mean he feels like he is losing a father. But I’m like, no, you’re gaining a different father and a brother”.
