The action comedy about 2023 heists earned an impressive $38.5 million in its opening weekend.
"John Wick 4" Takes Second Place
In second place is the highly-anticipated action film, "John Wick 4". Keanu Reeves reprises his role as the titular character, who this time travels the world to bring his unique brand of action.
The film earned $28.2 million over the weekend, bringing its total earnings close to $123 million.
"His Only Son" Comes in Third
Third place goes to "His Only Son", a religious drama that explores the faith of Abraham (Ibrahim) as he is asked by God to sacrifice his only son.
The film earned $5.5 million in its first weekend of release.
Rounding Out the Top Five
Fourth place goes to the horror sequel "Scream VI", with earnings of $5.3 million, while in fifth is the sports drama "Creed 3". The film tells the story of a dramatic showdown between former friends in the ring, and has earned close to $149 million in its five weeks of release.
"Shazam! Fury of the Gods" Takes Sixth Place
In sixth place is the action comedy "Shazam! Fury of the Gods". The film, which has been in theaters for three weeks, has earned a little over $53.4 million. Other Notable Releases Also in the top ten are "A Thousand and One", "65", "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" and "Jesus Revolution".
In eleventh place is "Cocaine Bear", while "Avatar: The Way of Water" falls to twelfth place after sixteen weeks of showing. The film grossed $846,000 over the weekend and has grossed nearly $682 million in U.S. theaters, with a worldwide total of more than $2.3 billion.
