In 2013, the film "Wolf of Wall Street" starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie was a big success. Recently, a video clip from the show "BAFTA: A Life In Pictures" has surfaced where Robbie talks about her experience filming the movie when she was just 23 years old.
Nervousness Before Filming
“I know this sounds silly now, knowing how big the movie became, but at the time I was like, ‘No one’s gonna notice me in this film. It doesn’t matter what I do in this film because they’re gonna focus on Leo and I’ll just slip under the radar.’” Robbie said in the interview.
She added that she was very nervous before filming an intimate scene with DiCaprio and "had a couple of shots of tequila before shooting".
Fear of Online Immortality
The actress also shared that she was initially "scared" about the idea of her n*ked body being immortalized online.
However, when the director offered to tone down the scenes for her comfort, she declined. Despite her nervousness, she went ahead with the intimate scenes on the floor with DiCaprio. During the filming, there were 30 crew members in the small bedroom along with the actors.
Career Flourishing
As her career continued to flourish, Robbie wrote a letter to director Quentin Tarantino, expressing her desire to work with him. "I always knew that being on a Quentin Tarantino set was a bucket-list thing for me," she said. "And I didn’t really feel that I was good enough until I saw I, Tonya.
It was the first time I thought, 'OK, I’m good enough to reach out to him.' " Robbie's nerves and fear before filming intimate scenes in "Wolf of Wall Street" are common experiences for many actors. However, her bravery and determination to do what she loved paid off, and she has since become a successful actress in Hollywood.
