“Here’s the thing,” Kutcher continued, “If I put my arm around her and was like all friendly with her, I’d be having an affair with her. Like, the rumor would be that I’m having an affair with her.
But, “If I stand next to her and put my hands in my pockets – so there’s no chance that like that could be the rumor – the rumor is we don’t like each other”.

Kutcher went on to explain that he and Witherspoon have a close friendship, one that he didn't feel the need to defend.
“Reese and I are really good friends, we’re really close,” he said. “I don’t have to defend that”. The former “Punk’d” co-creator also spoke about the difficulties of posing for a horde of photographers on a red carpet, acknowledging that awkward expressions are bound to happen in such a high-pressure situation.
The film, which will be available for streaming on February 10, sees Kutcher and Witherspoon play friends who switch homes to figure out what they want in their relationships.
