In a recent BuzzFeed Celeb video, Jennifer Lopez, the renowned singer and actress, recounted a harrowing incident that occurred on the set of her new film "Shotgun Wedding". The film, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 27th, was shot in the Dominican Republic and starred Lopez alongside six other actors, including co-star Josh Duhamel.
During the promotion of the film, Lopez disclosed how she had a near-death experience while filming an action-packed scene. The incident occurred when her dress got caught on a wheel, almost sending her plummeting over a cliff.
However, her co-star Josh came to her rescue, saving her from certain doom.
A Brush with Death
When asked "Who's most likely to nail a stunt on the first take?" Lopez, who is 53 years old, responded, "Me and Josh [Duhamel] got pretty good at it." Duhamel, who is 50, jokingly quipped, "I don't know if I've nailed anything on the first take." Lopez then reassured him, "Really? I feel like we got pretty good.
Especially when we were handcuffed together and we had to do all that crazy stuff." However, Lopez then admitted that there was one exception to this, "Except for the one time I almost went over the cliff. That was that wasn't fun." Her co-stars were shocked and began to inquire if this was true.
Lopez confirmed it was, "So, you know how in that scene where my dress was caught on the wheel? One time it got caught in the wheel, and I was going over, and I'm looking at Josh. I'm like, 'Josh, Don't let me go, please!' " she explained, reenacting the event.
"He's like, 'I got you! You go, we go!' " she concluded. "Scary as f---."
A Star-Studded Cast
"Shotgun Wedding" also stars Sônia Braga, Jennifer Coolidge, Lenny Kravitz, Cheech Marin and D'Arcy Carden, who join Lopez and Duhamel in the film.
The action-romantic comedy premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 27th, and has received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike.
