Fans of the iconic HBO series "S*x and the City" are in for a treat as new photos reveal the return of one of the show's most beloved characters. On Friday, the official Instagram account for the upcoming revival "And Just Like That" posted several images of Sarah Jessica Parker and John Corbett holding hands while strolling down the streets of New York.
The caption simply read "Shh. Don’t tell anyone."
The release of these photos comes less than four months after Parker confirmed that Corbett would be reprising his role as Aidan, Carrie Bradshaw's (played by Parker) on-again, off-again love interest, in the second season of the HBO Max revival.
Parker also shared that she and King “didn’t go to Kim” to discuss the series. “We didn’t go to Kim for this, you know,” she said. “After we didn’t do the movie and the studio couldn’t meet what she wanted to do, we have to hear her and listen to her and what was important to her.
It didn’t fit into what was important or needed for us”. “I am delighted and excited to tell more stories about these vibrant, bold characters—played by these powerful, amazing actors,” executive producer Michael Patrick King said in a statement
The Return of Aidan: A Look into the Past
It's been over a decade since fans last saw Aidan and Carrie together.
In 2010, Aidan made a brief appearance in the movie "S*x and the City 2," where he and Carrie happen to cross paths in Abu Dhabi and share a kiss. He first appeared in the show's third season, quickly becoming a fan favorite with his charming and sensitive demeanor.
However, their relationship ultimately came to an end when Carrie broke his heart.
The Future of Aidan and Carrie
As the release date for the "And Just Like That" revival approaches, fans are eagerly speculating about what the return of Aidan means for the show's lead character, Carrie.
Will they rekindle their romance? Will they simply remain friends? Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain – the return of John Corbett as Aidan is sure to bring a new level of complexity and depth to the beloved series.
