The trailer for the long-awaited Netflix documentary series about Britain's Prince Harry and his wife Meghan was released today. “When the stakes are this high doesn’t it make more sense to hear our stories from us?” Meghan says in the trailer.

Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties two years ago and moved to California where they have issued harsh criticism of the monarchy, including accusations of racism, which has led to a rift with the rest of the family, particularly his father King Charles and older brother.

The timing of the trailer and documentary could hardly be better for Netflix, with William and his wife Kate currently in Boston and Buckingham Palace dealing with the controversy surrounding William's godfather. The trailer “Harry & Meghan.

A spokesperson said the show "explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution." Although no official release date has been given for the documentary, the media is speculating that it will be released on December 8.
