This beautiful lady can now have a new string to her name - fiancé! The 27-year-old British actress who starred in a biopic of Amy Winehouse’s life in 2024, Back to Black, is to wed her West End actor boyfriend of four years, Jamie Bogyo.

Abela is also popular for her acting in a drama series known as "Industry." As for the engagement news, Bogyo could not hide the happiness and shared it on Instagram on Sunday, July 7. The post started with a picture of Abela smiling widely, displaying a new ring on her finger and holding a red rose.

The post was teasing and he wrote the caption “She said she’ll think about it! ” The post featured a video of Abela placing her legs around Bogyo as they kissed each other and another clip, where their family joined them after the romantic act.

Although Abela has not posted this news on her social media account, she left a comment on Bogyo’s post, saying, "A weeping mess.?"

Birthday Tribute and Engagement

Recall, in late December, Bogyo marked their relationship, celebrating Abela’s birthday with a sweet Instagram post.

Some folks can’t stand it, say time is a bandit, but I take the opposite view… Cause when I need a lift ? time brings a gift ? another day with you! Happy Birthday baby- you’re timeless to me ??,” he wrote alongside various photos of their time together.

The engagement news comes after Abela’s portrayal of the late singer Amy Winehouse in 'Back to Black.' The movie also bears Winehouse’s second and final studio album. It was a dream for Abela in an interview with PEOPLE in April during the world premiere of the film in London.

It’s not like it’s me singing she said, characterization and acting; if you play a character, you do what is necessary. And that’s my job as an actor, to be there with her and represent her everywhere in her life and tell the story at every single time of her life.

Abela stated that getting to portray Winehouse, who passed on from unintentional alcohol poisoning at age 27 in 2011, helped her learn a lot about being real. "I mean, so much, you know, I think more than anything just how singular of an artist she was, how authentic, you know, as a songwriter, one of the most incredible poets," she said.

The engagement is a joyful moment for Abela, who has shown great potential to perform both on-camera and off-camera. People are also waiting for more updates about the couple as they start this new journey in life.
