The first theatrical poster of Ridley Scott’s upcoming motion picture, "Gladiator II," was released by Paramount Pictures on Monday. Also set for a November 22 release, a poster with Paul Mescal in a combative position has been released.

Such a cliff-hanger is being warmly welcomed by the fans of the first movie since it gives them quite an intense teaser. "Gladiator II" continues the story years after Scott’s revolutionary 2000 historical drama Gladiator, which was nominated for eleven Oscars, winning five of them, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe.

In this sequel, Paul Mescal strains into the sandals of Lucius, the son of Lucilla (Connie Nielsen) and the nephew to the awful Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix ), who became an emperor after ‘killing’ his father. The continuation of the general plot describes Lucius - the man who has grown and evolved with the help of the story’s events, occurred in his early years.

Cinema viewers will always associate Lucius with the young boy powerfully shaped by the demeanor of the real hero, played by Crowe. Maximus did not only rescued Lucius and his mother but also changed him for the better by taking revenge for his family's death.

This film is a little deeper in exploring Lucius’s character, showing how the actions of Maximus define his choices.

Gladiator II: Creative Forces

The writing credit for this film goes to David Scarpa, who wrote the script with Peter Craig; however, the character for this film was developed by David Franzoni.

"Gladiator II" also features the great ensemble cast of Pedro Pascal, Joseph Quinn, Fred Hechinger, Lior Raz, Derek Jacobi, Nielsen, and Denzel Washington. Created by Douglas Wick, Ridley Scott, Lucy Fisher, Michael Pruss, David Franzoni, executive producers Walter Parkes, Laurie MacDonald, Raymond Kirk Aidan Elliott, the film perfectly reflects the high-level work in Hollywood cooperation.

Hybridizing with Universal Pictures' "Wicked" and the Angel Studios drama "Bonhoeffer," "Gladiator II" belongs to Paramount’s robust and diverse lineup for the year. On this slate has the Transformers One, which is scheduled for September 20, the sequel to the horror movie 'Smile 2' on October 18, the animated "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" on December 20, and the biopic film of the British singer Robbie Williams 'Better Man' on December 25.

With the recent success of "A Quiet Place: Day One" proves Paramount’s ability to provide important and engaging content on the big screen.
