As a twist of events that was quite awkward, one of the singers, Fin from the Liverpool band Stone, confounded Simon Cowell’s invitation to audition a new 'One Direction-style' band. The man behind sensations such as The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent introduced a new search for act across the UK that would create a new pop band akin to One Direction.

Recently in the summer, Cowell, aged 64, walked around the streets of London holding a placard, "Simon needs you! Future megastars wanted for new boyband. No time wasters." His team also used other social media platforms, including the internet, to scout for Fin.

A user posted a video in TikTok where Fin directly reacted to the message he received from Cowell’s team with an effort to cover it. It was a text message that went like this, "Hello, Fin. I’m contacting you on behalf of Simon Cowell!

We are working with him to scout singers around the age of 16-18 years old for a new boyband, which is being filmed as part of a potential televised documentary following him on his search."

Fin Rejects Cowell's Offer

All the same, Fin's respond to the apparent proposal was far from enthusiastic.

"F--k off," he said and then referring to The X Factor, one of the shows Cowell judges: "Tell Simon Cowell to go f--k himself Team 1D," asserting his support for One Direction, the band created by Cowell and other judges for the show in 2010.

Nevertheless, the second place was advantageous to One Direction; they reached international fame, releasing numerous successful albums before their hiatus in 2016.

Since One Direction’s break from music making, all the individual members, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne, have embarked on solo careers with different levels of achievements.

Cowell is not discouraged within this scenario and continues to aspire towards finding a group that may be comparable to that of One Direction. He spoke to the PA news agency saying, "You can’t fake this, even though I’m the one going out to do the auditions, it really depends on the individuals.

If you find the right people I’m not someone who says dress like this, say this, do this, it is just not my style and I never once did that with One Direction."
