Richard Gere is now set to feature in a central part in the new series of spy drama, The Agency, to be aired on Paramount+ and produced jointly by Showtime. This casting decision places Gere with an excellent cast of Michael Fassbender and Jeffrey Wright in the movie, which is being executive-produced by George Clooney and Grant Heslov.

Finally, after examining several large series, Gere decided on The Agency, confirming his early popularity as well as diverse abilities. The show called The Agency is based on the original Françoise series Le Bureau des Legendes.

The series familiarizes the viewers with Martian, played by Fassbender, a CIA agent who struggles with his duty and feelings as he is transferred back to the London Station. Hiring a past flame brings a lot of complications to his life as it intertwines the aspect of human relations with danger.

The series is a striving plot full of numerous mysteries and the exception that always acts as the background between love and devotion. As the London Station Chief and Bosko, Gere, as per his style, plays a man quite messed up due to his undercover experiences.

The presence of his character enhances the story, and the gravity of his character makes the station's operations more believable.

Global Launch of 'The Agency'

The shooting commenced in London with the production managed by Showtime Studios along with 101 Studios.

Gere himself speaks volumes about this series, which is production by Paramount Global Co-CEO Chris McCarthy and President/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios. "Richard Gere is in a class of his own, adored by generations of fans worldwide for his exceptional ability to infuse depth and authenticity into every role he plays," McCarthy said.

"We are delighted to have him join our extraordinary cast which includes Michael Fassbender and Jeffrey Wright in Showtime’s latest thriller." Originally intended to be premiered as some kind of global on-demand experience and to be followed by a Paramount+ streaming window, The Agency will air on broadcast.

The reach is stated as global, with availability planned for several other countries, thus supporting the Paramount’s global appeal. The cast of The Agency is also worked on by experienced employees from different production studios, the script is written by Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, while Joe Wright is the director of the first episodes of the series.

Aside from The Agency, Gere’s prepared works are Oh' Canada, under the direction of Paul Schrader, and The Making Of, starring Diane Keaton and Blake Lively. Currently, Gere is being represented by WME and Hirsch Wallerstein, where Gere’s acting career has continued to progress, proving his relevance to the cut throat international movie market.
