Apparently, Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott are in "crisis talks" after an argument at the TRIC awards. This couple started dating in 2019 after Thompson, 31, of Made in Chelsea star, sent a message to McDermott, 27, former Love Island contestant.

They briefly separated in 2020 when McDermott admitted to cheating on Thompson while filming The X Factor: Celebrity. They divorced but got back together sometime after when they probably realized it was easier to stay married than get a divorce.

Thompson was caught crying after he was consoled by his friend Pete Wicks at the TRIC awards on June 25, following the alleged bust-up with McDermott. The source revealed to The Sun about the tensions between the couple, stating, "Since Christmas, Zara and Sam have been really busy with work and have had little quality time to see each other and as a result, their relationship has suffered.

“They’ve both wanted to make the most of their careers and say yes to all the exciting opportunities offered to them. Last weekend it came to a head and they had a big row. It was very upsetting and they needed some time to let the dust settle."

McDermott Moves Out

As per the magazine report, McDermott moved out of the couple’s home in London and moved in with her parents in Essex before going for a modelling assignment in Majorca.

While in Spain, she posted a photo with the caption, "When life gives lemons," which of course, prompted many a fan to think that it may well be in reference to her relationship problems. In the same revelation by the insider, it was said that for the two to work on the issues, McDermott has relocated to England and moved back with Thompson.

This development follows Thompson's recent announcement as the new host of the Love Island spin-off show - titled Love Island: Aftersun - last month. It is often presented by Maya Jama, while a mixture of regular contributors provides behind-the-scenes commentaries on the villa’s twists and turns.

Thompson sat on the Aftersun panel to be accompanied by season eight’s Indiyah Polack, Amy Hart from the fifth season, and Chris Taylor from the All-Star series; Jordan Stephens of Rizzle Kicks was also on the panel as a guest.

Talking to Digital Spy about his changeover from reality TV to presenting, Thompson said, "I got so lucky to fall into my dream job. It’s pretty awesome. It’s everything I’ve wanted to do, and I hope I’m good at it but I’m still learning. I’m relatively new and there’s so many people to look up to."
