The bartender of the New York hotel where Justin Timberlake reportedly partook before he was arrested admits to PEOPLE that he only consumed one beverage before leaving. A bartender at Sag Harbor’s American Hotel, where the singer was with friends before his arrest and booking on DWI charges on June 18, confirmed Timberlake’s previous "one martini" claims on Saturday, June 22.

Another employee said, "If he was drinking more, it was not here." According to the official information received from the Sag Harbor Police Department, Timberlake, 43, was arrested in Long Island, N.Y., soon after midnight on June 18 for driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances.

According to his arrest report, obtained by PEOPLE, Timberlake told police: "I had one martini and I followed my friends home."

Details of Arrest

The incident took place when a police officer on patrol saw the “No Angels” singer speeding at a stop sign in a 2025 BMW and "failing to keep on the right side of the road." When the officer stopped Timberlake, the officer stated that Timberlake had bloodshot and glassy eyes.

It goes on to report that "A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests." However, Timberlake has not stopped performing and is still on his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.

In his recent concert at the United Center in Chicago on June 22, Timberlake took time to thank his die-hard fans. "So many of you come up to me and say, 'I grew up with you, man,' " he said, "... I want each and every one of you to know I've grown up with you." "You have been such a big and beautiful part of my life and sometimes I can't find the words to show my gratitude that you guys just keep riding with me and riding with me," Timberlake further said. Timberlake is scheduled to appear in court on July 26.
